2023 NFL playoffs: Hobbled Patrick Mahomes leads Chiefs to thrilling AFC title win over Bengals
Patrick Mahomes wasn't 100% as he played through an ankle sprain in Sunday's AFC championship game.
But even a limited version of the star Kansas City Chiefs quarterback made enough plays for the Chiefs to eke out a 23-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on 's field goal in the closing seconds.
And on top of his plays in the passing game, he set up the game-winning kick with a first-down run down the sideline after which he drew a late hit flag on the Bengals for shoving him out of bounds.
That 15-yard penalty put Kansas City in field goal range, setting up Butker's 45-yard winner.
The Chiefs are headed to the for the third time in four years. They'll face the Philadelphia Eagles on Feb. 12 in Glendale, Arizona.
