N.J. bakery closing after 43 years in business

Dom’s Bakery Grand, a Hoboken baking staple, closed its doors for good on Saturday, Jan. 28.

“As many of you know, we have made the decision to close this chapter of our lives. We are beyond thankfully to the entire Hoboken community for your lasting support and loyalty during our past 43 years of business,” .

Dom’s Bakery originally opened in 1979 at 5th St. The Castelittos moved the bakery around the corner to 506 Grand St. in 1988.

Dom’s Bakery was popular for its bread. The bakery offered baguettes, focaccia and other Italian baked classics, like sfogliatella and Easter bread.

Legendary singer and fellow Hoboken-native Frank Sinatra frequented the bakery.

Dom’s Bakery landed on NJ.com’s list of 64 foods that define New Jersey. It was heralded as a go-to spot for Italian bread in the Garden State.
