Manchester United, Chelsea and West Ham target Ibrahim Sangare signs new PSV contract

Ibrahim Sangare has signed a new contract with PSV Eindhoven, keeping him at the club until 2027 and ending speculation linking him with a move to the Premier League.

With 24 caps for Ivory Coast and impressing for both Toulouse in Ligue 1 and PSV since moving to the Netherlands in 2020, Sangare has been expected to make the next step in his career.

However, it does not look like he will be leaving PSV any time soon, extending his deal with the Eredivisie side until 2027 and aiming for silverware.

‘I have felt at home since the first day, the way I am received and how people treat me makes me very happy,’ he said.

‘I want to become champion with PSV and reach the UEFA Champions League.’

Sangare was an unused substitute in PSV’s opening league game of the season on Saturday as they beat Emmen 4-1 and went straight to the top of the Eredivisie table.

The Dutch side has a big Champions League qualification match with Monaco on Tuesday which he is likely to return for.

Sangare started in the 1-1 draw in the first leg in Monaco last week and will hope to play in the home game to keep his Champions League dream alive.

The Ivorian spoke openly in May about his desire to play in the Premier League, telling Dutch publication De Telegraaf: ‘I am a PSV player, and I am concentrating on the three games we have left this season.

‘I don’t have my head in other things. After that, I’ll go on holiday, and I’ll have time to talk about possible next projects. But until then I don’t want to worry about that.

‘Playing in the Premier League is not only a dream of mine but a dream of every footballer. That is the biggest and most important league in the world.’
