Coleen Rooney 'wants to be on Strictly or I’m A Celeb'

Coleen Rooney has reportedly demonstrated a desire to take part on reality TV.

The WAG and mother-of-four - who has been married to footballer Wayne since 2008 - is allegedly eyeing up the likes of Strictly Come Dancing and I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here, to prove that she is her own person.

The Sun reports that she is sick of being seen as Wayne's 'long suffering wife' in claims that have been made following yet another of the ex-Manchester United player's extra-marital dramas.

The latest saw the athlete, 33, accused of flitting around with a barmaid during 10-hour booze bender.

Coleen, 32, 'is sick of being seen as a victim, she’s strong and independent – which she’s proven by how she’s bounced back from Wayne’s latest indiscretions', a source told the publication.

They went on: 'She has given everything up by moving to Washington DC for Wayne’s career and this is a good project for her to focus on.

'Coleen has her sights set on big TV shows like Strictly Come Dancing and I’m A Celeb. She wants the public to see her in a different light, rather than just the woman who has to clear up Wayne’s mess.

'She’s going to use the next few months to spread her wings and meet different people. “Coleen is no pushover and she’s going to make sure everyone knows it.'

Coleen fronted a series called Real Women a decade ago - but has since remained off-camera to raise her and Wayne's sons - Kai, nine, Klay, five, Kit, three and Cass, one.

In the past, the WAG has worked with brands such as Magnum and Wonderbra, which are said to have earned her around £10m at the time.

The last notable WAG to appear on I'm A Celeb was Rebekah Vardy, who appeared in the 2017 season alongside the likes of Georgia Toffolo, Amir Khan and Stanley Johnson.

While Rebekah failed to win the show, Abbey Clancy - wife of Burnley player Peter Crouch - went from strength-to-strength when she appeared on Srictly in 2013, ultimately winning it.

This isn't the first time Coleen has been rumored to appear on the dancing series; last year rumblings were rife, but she told OK! Magazine, bluntly: 'I’m not. I’m not a dancer and I won’t be doing the show.'

MailOnline has approached Coleen's reps for comment.

Coleen appeared to be seeking solace in her father Tony McLoughlin as she headed to church with him in Washington last Sunday a few days after the news broke of Wayne's latest tet-a-tet.

The Liverpool native seemed in sombre spirits as she made her way into the venue with her father by her side, after reports came in that she wants Wayne to check into rehab for his alleged issues with alcohol.

In showdown talks, Wayne told her he had nothing wrong after downing shots with bar girl Vickie Rosiek until 2.30AM.

A source told MailOnline last week: 'The couple met up yesterday to talk things through, but Coleen blames Wayne for bringing the spotlight on their family again.'
